Splendtacular

Okay, I'm not going to lie. Today was exhausting! There's so much more to freelancing than I could have imagined, and there's so much more to writing than just writing. Do you want to hear the gory details?

Well, anyone that has ever thought seriously about writing knows that you've got to do your research. But the research I've been doing has not resulted in any writing projects. Apparently to get your self published online you need to do a whole lot more than just write.

Hence the name of today's blog - Splendtacular. I'm in the process of creating my own website which is just a little harder than I had anticipated. My creative self named this site Splendtacular. It's nowhere near completion. and my research tells me I'm going to have to learn a little HTML to get the job done. That's a chore.

I've also spent hours researching Search Engine Optimization techniques and key word placement and a whole lot of other stuff that does not include me sitting down at my keyboard and writing a piece of anything that can even be considered for publication.

I've searched the web and haven't made a dent in researching the things I'll need to learn. Don't get me wrong. I'm still as enthusiastic about this new venture as before. I just realize now how hard I'm going to have to work to make my dream come true.

As for writing, this blog is the most writing I've done all day and I'm too tired to really put my all into that. If you're reading this, I apologize for not being a little more upbeat.

Tomorrow is another day (although I'll probably still put a few more hours in on this one). Anything worth doing is worth doing well so I know that this hard work is necessary to lay a solid foundation for my new career.

Since no one has yet to find me out there, I'm writing for the sake of writing at this point. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to look back at these ramblings as a successful freelancer and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Till then I'll just keep writing.
